Hither Hills State Park Campground New York

Hither Hills State Park Overview

Hither Hills State Park is located right along the sandy beach in the Long Island Region and has 189 campsites and cabins available to rent. There is also a 40-acre freshwater later located at the park.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (20 to 40 feet, most sites at 30 feet). Each site also has a table fire ring and grate.  Sites can accommodate up to 2 vehicles and 6 people.

The campground is open mid-April to mid-November. Some loops open/close at different times. Amenities include a camp store, drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($) and a dump station. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. Other amenities include a baseball/softball field, basketball court, volleyball court and playground

Hither Hills – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes swimming, surfing, beach combing, biking, hiking, fishing, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.In the winter visitors can also enjoy snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Be sure to also check out the unique “walking dunes” of Napeague harbor.
