Woodland Valley campground has 65 single-family campsites and is located next to a stream at the foot of Slide Mountain, the tallest peak in the Catskills. The campground is in a wooded area so most sites have nice shade. Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Each also has a table, fire ring and grate.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station. Cell service is not available.
Hiking trails abound, leading to Wittenberg, Slide and Cornell Mountains. Other outdoor activities include hunting, fishing, horseback riding, biking and wildlife viewing. Visitors can also enjoy a variety of winter sports including cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There’s also a railroad museum (with train rides on the Catskill Mountain Railroad), shops and restaurants nearby.

Wonderful campsite 11 right next to the stream. unfortunately no hot water for my 3 days there.. mens bathroom sink near entrance was not working.. closet spigot working was near campsite
27. No firewood sold at campground at this time. NO cell phone service.. most campsite are very close together so not much privacy. Dead end road so virtually no road traffic at all. Most campsites are rocks and dirt. No fire ban 8/2022 at this time. Its about a 30 min ride to Phoenicia. Bathrooms clean. Very close to hiking trails- Slide mountain trail and giant ledge right next door
Thanks for the Woodland Valley campground review Ben!
And appreciate the info on (no) cell service or firewood to purchase. We’ve updated our info.
UPDATE AUG 2023: Roaming truck selling firewood comes through the campground a few times per day and passes directly in front of most campsites. Showers are working fine with hot water.
