Allen Springs Campground has 16 campsites and is next to the Metolius River in the Deschutes National Forest.  Towering Ponderosa Pines provide nice shade to most campsites. The campground is open year-round with reservations accepted mid May to mid September.

Campsites are best suited for tents rather than RVs.  Campsites 4, 5, 6, 14, 15 and 16 are walk-to tent sites with the walk ranging from about 30 feet to 100 feet from the parking area. The rest of the campsites have their own parking spurs (up to 30 feet). Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill.

Campground amenities include vault toilets and trashing collection. Water is not available. Cell service is also not available.

Other campgrounds in the area include Lower Canyon Creek, Smiling River, Allingham, Gorge, Camp Sherman, Pine Rest, Riverside and Jack Creek.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also good in the area.
