Big Bend Campground is a BLM property and has 15 first-come first-serve campsites located along the beautiful Crooked River. The campground is open year-round.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a table, fire ring and grill. Sites 13-15 are walk to (up a few stairs) and about 30 feet from parking to camping area. Campsite #8 is a group site.
Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash receptacles. Cell service is not available in the area. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.
Big Bend Campground is one of several BLM campgrounds along the Crooked Wild and Scenic River. You might also like Stillwater, Lone Pine, Palisades, Chimney Rock, Cobble Rock, Post Pile, Poison Butte or Castle Rock campgrounds.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Prineville Reservoir is also nearby and is a popular area for boating, water sports and fishing.
