Big River Campground Deschutes National Forest Oregon
Big River Overview
Big River Campground has 10 campsites and is located next to the Deschutes River in the Sunriver community of Bend, OR. A group campground is also across the street and holds up to 40 campers.
Campsites are generally large and spread out. Trees provide nice shade to most campsites for tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Cell service is good in the area.
Area Recreation & Activities
Outdoor recreation includes boating (no motors), kayaking, canoeing, fishing, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The campground has easy access to the river. The water is Class II flatwater up to about 6 miles below Sunriver, where there are a number of dangerous falls.
Other campgrounds in the area include Fall River, Pringle Falls, Ogden Group, Prairie, Wyeth, Bull Bend and Mckay Crossing. LaPine State Park is also nearby.
