Carl G Washburne Memorial State Park campground is located on the east side of Highway 101 and has 54 large campsites with electric and water hookups. There are also 7 tent-only sites and 2 yurts. Most campsites are large and each also has a table, fire ring and grate. The campground has drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station and firewood for sale from the campground host.
Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park has several hiking trails (some leading from the campground to the beach), of varying difficultly. You can hike to the beach, to wildlife viewing areas and old growth forests. Other outdoor activities include swimming, beach combing, whale watching, biking, picnicking, wildlife viewing and even agate hunting!
The historic Heceta Lighthouse is just 2 miles south via Highway 101 and is worth the trip. Tours are only available March through October.
Tillicum Beach campground is another option. It has 60 campsites and is about 15 miles to the north via Highway 101. And you might also like Cape Perpetua Campground, or Alsea Falls Campground.
