Chimney Rock Campground is open year-round and has 16 first-come, first-serve campsites located next to the Lower Crooked River. Campsites are set in a wooded setting and beneath massive rock formations.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Cell service is not available.
Chimney Rock Campground is one of several BLM campgrounds along the Crooked Wild and Scenic River. You might also like Stillwater, Lone Pine, Palisades, Poison Butte, Big Bend, Post Pile, Cobble Rock or Castle Rock campgrounds.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, hiking, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The Prineville Reservoir is also nearby and is a popular area for boating, water sports and fishing. You can also hike up to Chimney Rock via the trailhead across the highway.
