Deschutes River State Recreation Area campground is located on the banks of the Deschutes River just before it enters in to the Columbia River. The campground has a total of 78 campsites. These sites are reservable mid April through October and first-come, first-serve during the off season.

Campsites A2-A35 have water & electric hookups, a paved parking pad, table, fire ring and grate. These sites are mostly large and can handle a rig up to 55 feet. A maximum of 2 vehicles per site in A-loop, with an extra nightly fee for additional vehicles.  Most also have great shade from tall trees. Site B36-B49 and sites T70-T80 are primitive tent campsites (1 vehicle and up to 8 people). The G sites are for groups (up to 25 people). Sites G50-G54 are in the Antelope group camping area, G55-G59 is Beaver, G60-G64 is Chinook, and G65-G69 is Deer.

Campground amenities include drinking water, showers, flush toilets, vault toilets and a day use area. Firewood and ice are also available for sale from the camp host.  Campfires are banned from June 1 through September 30, although propane, white gas and briquettes are allowed.

Deschutes River State Recreation Area Activities

Boating and fishing are the main attractions at the park and on the Deschutes River. A pass is needed to boat on the Deschutes River. The nearest boat ramp is within 10 miles.  Other activities include canoeing, kayaking, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
