Horse Creek Group Overview

Horse Creek Group Campground is located next to Horse Creek and has 17 parking/camping areas set among tall Douglas-firs. The campground can accommodate a total of 60 campers and 23 vehicles.

Amenities include drinking water (pump), vault toilets and trash collection. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers ad RVs. Each site has a gravel parking spur (up to 35 feet), table, fire ring and grill. Campers need to bring their own firewood. Cell service is poor in the area. There is also an open field on the west side of the campground to play sports.

Other campgrounds in the area include Mckenzie Bridge, Paradise, Limberlost, Lookout, Mona, Delta, Sunnyside and Slide Creek.

Horse Creek Group Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The McKenzie River National Recreation Trailhead is also nearby, offering fun-filled hiking and biking opportunities. The 26-mile trail boasts wonderful scenery along the river, and is an easy hike for all ages. There are also numerous developed boat launches that provide access to the McKenzie River.
