Kinnikinnick (Laurance Lake) Campground Mt. Hood National Forest Oregon

Kinnikinnick (Laurance Lake) Overview

Kinnikinnick Laurance Lake 007

Kinnikinnick Campground is on the southern edge of Laurance Lake and offers 25 walk-to campsites with most having great views of the lake. Campsite #16 does have a parking spot next to the camping area, the others have a walk ranging from 40 to 150 feet.

The primitive campground is a perfect place to go “off grid” and enjoy the great outdoors. Keep in min that the road is very rough and requires high-clearance vehicles. Campground amenities include vault toilets. Water and trash collection are not available. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. Cell service is not available.

Other campgrounds in the area include Lost Creek, Riley Horse Camp and Lost Lake Resort & Campground.

Kinnikinnick – Area Recreation & Activities

From Lost Lake Butte, the valley view is breathtaking, and from the viewpoint, guests can revel in the most majestic view of Mt. Hood, its glaciers and Lost Lake. Another one of the many attractions at Lost Lake Campground is the old growth boardwalk, an interpretive trail that meanders through one of Oregon’s large old growth stands.

Other outdoor recreation includes fishing, kayaking, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. A boat ramp is also available over in the day-use area (electric motors and non-motorized boats only).
