Limberlost Campground has 12 campsites set under towering Douglas fir and is next to the babbling Lost Creek in Willamatte National Forest. The small/rustic campground’s name is derived from “A Girl of the Limberlost” (a class novel written by Gene Stratton-Porter).
The campground is generally open mid May to late September. The single-family campsites are first-come, first-serve and the group site is reservable. There are 2 tent-only sites and the rest can accommodate tents, trailers and/or RVs. Group camping is also available (up to 75 people). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, fishing, swimming, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. You may also enjoy a soak in nearby Belknap Hot Springs.
Other campgrounds in the area include Paradise, Horse Creek Group, Olallie and Mckenzie Bridge.
