Memaloose State Park Campground has 114 campsites (43 with full hookups) and is located in one of the prettiest (and warmest) areas of the Columbia River Gorge. The campground overlooks the river, but there is an active railroad line between the campground and the river. Although quite warm in the summer, you will get some shade from the tall maples, willows and cottonwood trees in the area.
The campground has drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers ($), trash collection, dump station and playground. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. A boat launch ramp is within 10 miles of the campground.
The area offers a variety of outdoor recreation including canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Stargazing is also quite popular here on clear nights.
Viento State Park is about 17 miles west and also along the Columbia River.
