Millpond Recreation Site Campground has 12 campsites nestled along Rock Creek and among a lush forest of Douglas fir, western red cedar and sugar pines.
The small campground is generally open mid April to mid November. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (20 to 40 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Some cell service is available.
Susan Creek and Bogus Creek campgrounds are also in the area.
The recreation site has a children’s play area, sports-field, horseshoes and nature trails. There’s also a dandy swimming hole between the picnic pavilion and campground. A 1-mile interpretive trail passes through the site of an older lumber bill. Other activities include fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Whitewater rafting and kayaking are also popular on the North Umpqua River (5 miles away).
