Olallie On Mckenzie Highway Campground Willamette National Forest Oregon

Olallie On Mckenzie Highway Overview

Olallie Campground 005

Olallie Campground (on McKenzie Highway) has 16 campsites set under towering Douglas fir and on the banks of the McKenzie River and Olallie Creek. The lower loop (sites 12-17) has some dandy views of the river while the upper loop (sites 1-11) is set further in the trees with many facing the creek.

The campground is generally open mid May to late September. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a parking spur (ranging in size from 20 to 40 feet), table, fire ring and grill.  Some of the sites are pull through. Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection.  There is also a picnic / day use area at the campground and a boat ramp nearby. Firewood is available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is not available in the area.

Olallie Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

Fishing, rafting, kayaking and swimming are three top activities in the river. Picnicking is also a lot of fun at the campground. Nearby is the McKenzie Pass Trail Area with incredible hikes around lakes, overlooking cliffs, and trailing along craters and valleys.

Know Before You Go: This campground is in central Oregon near McKenzie Bridge on the Willamette National Forest. There is another “Olallie” near Mt. Hood, Oregon.

Other campgrounds in the area include Paradise, Limberlost, Ice Cap, and Cold Water Cove.
