Rainbow Campground Mt. Hood National Forest Oregon
Rainbow Overview
Rainbow campground has 17 reservable campsites with several along the banks of the Wild & Scenic Clackamas River in the Mt. Hood National Forest. A nice forest of Douglas fir also will provide shade and privacy between campsites.
Campsites are for tents only and can accommodate up to vehicles and 6 people. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Campground amenities include vault toilets and drinking water. Cell service is not available.
Rainbow – Area Recreation
Outdoor activities in the area include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Also, the 5-mile Riverside National Recreation Trail is not far from the campground. It’s quit popular for hiking and mountain biking. Birding opportunities include seeing bald eagles, northern spotted owls and even the blur of peregrine falcons as they fly by at supersonic speed.
Other campgrounds in the area include Shellrock Creek, Riverside, Lake Harriet and Riverford.
