Stillwater Campground has 11 nice (first-come, first-serve) campsites on the banks of the easy flowing Lower Crooked River. The BLM campground is open year round and is set in a scenic gorge with 600-foot high rocky cliffs.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Camp roads and parking spurs are gravel. Some sites offer pull through parking. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available. Cell service is also not available in the area.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes rafting, kayaking, canoeing, tubing, swimming, fishing, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Stargazing is also great in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area (and along the river) include: Castle Rock, Lone Pine, Palisades, Chimney Rock, Cobble Rock, Post Pile, Poison Butte and Big Bend. Prineville Reservoir State Park is also nearby.
