Wallowa Lake State Park Comments & Reviews
Visited Wallowa Lake State Park Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Wallowa Lake State Park?
We stayed here in September 2014 in our 24′ Chinook Destiny. This is a very large park, and you’re going to be near people at all times. There are several camp hosts and park workers available, as well as a camp store, laundry, and boat/kayak rentals. The lake is wonderfully clear and clean with a swim area. A mile walk or ride up the road puts you in the middle of the tourist area which has several gift shops, restaurants, mini golf, go carts, and trail head access. If you’re there to hike, you’ll need to drive up to the trail parking area or add 2 miles to your total hike time. There are several great hikes in the area. The park’s resident deer are highly accustomed to people, and we saw them laying under others’ awnings, etc. There are nice paved pathways throughout the park, good for morning/evening strolls. When we visited, there were wildfires south of the park, which limited a couple of the hikes we had planned. However, we got to watch daily as the helicopters filled their water bladders from the lake to fight the fires. Notable wildlife we saw were deer, elk, and grouse. Overall, this was a very nice park with plenty of fun things to do and good facilities.
looking for info on yurts – location, pictures, etc.
cost
Hi Carol,
Unfortunately we don’t have photos of the yurts at Wallowa Lake State Park. You can check pricing and availability by clicking on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button on the Wallowa Lake State Park campground page.
I just reserved a yurt in October but haven’t stayed there . There are two yurts, and mine was $45 per night, plus an $8 reservation fee at the Wallowa Lake State Park reservation site.
Do the yurts have electricity and water?
Hi Mary,
The yurts at Wallowa Lake State Park have electricity and lighting, but not water. Water spigots can be found throughout the campground. The Yurts also have a deck (with table), a futon couch that converts into a double bed, a bunk bed that sleeps double on bottom and single on top. There’s also a wall heater. No linens/bedded are provided. Each yurt has a maximum capacity of 8 people. Check in is 4pm and check out is 11am. No cooking, smoking or open flames are allowed inside the yurt. And they are pet-friendly.
Looking for a way to check on my reservation information on the website and I can’t seem to locate a way to do that. How can
I check on my reservation?
Hi Lucy,
You’ll need to login to your account on ReserveAmerica.com to check your Wallowa Lake State Park reservation: https://www.reserveamerica.com/explore/wallowa-lake-state-park/OR/405408/overview
I made my reservation over the phone. I have a reservation confirmation number but nowhere to enter that information to confirm it and my calls to the office are not being returned. Is there anywhere for me to check on my reservation online? My account here is not associated with my reservation.
Hi Lucy,
