Whispering Falls Campground is next to the North Santiam River and has 16 campsites set in an old-growth forest in Willamette National Forest. Campsites 4-11 are riverfront. Ten of the campsites are reservable and the rest are first-come, first-serve.

The campground is generally open early May through September. Amenities include drinking water (spigots), vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood can also be purchased from the camp host. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a gravel parking spur (ranging in size from 30 to 40 feet), a table, fire ring and grill.  Cell service is poor in the area.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Anglers enjoy fishing for rainbow trout on the river. Among the many options for hiking and biking trails, the Mt. Jefferson-Pamelia Lake Trail Area is bound to please all types. Hikers looking for a challenging trail will enjoy the Minto Mountain Trail.  Nearby Detroit Lake also provides plenty of opportunity for water recreation like boating, water skiing and kayaking.

Other campgrounds in the area include Riverside At Detroit, Santiam Flats and Hoover.
