I try to get to Codorus at least once a year, as soon as they open or just before they close. Don’t go for the swimming on weekends. The pool is also for day use visitors and gets crowded on hot weekends. A fun time to be there is the weekend before Halloween when the Friends Of Codorus decorate two of the camping loops and kids trick-or-treat and take hay rides and play games. It’s a fund raiser for the park and it’s a good time for all.
The facilities are always clean and there is a lot to do. I’m told you can see the chimney tops of the houses that were flooded to make the lake when the water level is low.
Beautiful Park and awesome people who run it.
We stayed late Sept on a Mon-Fri at site #126. Its marked as one of the best sites. Its sunny & grassy with just one nice large tree. Level for our 8 ft teardrop. All sites around us empty in every direction so we had plenty of room as this is an all grassy area with no brush separating sites. It was quiet. Bathhouse in Loop D in great condition. Very clean. Unlimited long hot shower. Firewood $7 & ice $2 available on honor system from shed near entrance ranger booth. We would definitely stay here again.
