Shawnee State Park Overview

Shawnee State Park Campground has approximately 226 campsites located in Pennsylvania’s scenic Ridge and Valley Province. It is also just 10 miles west of the historic town of Bedford. The campground is open early April through December.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Many sites have electric hookups and several have full hookups. There are also two group camping areas (up to 15 people) with full hookups, and 4 (tent-only) group campsites of 20 people per site.

Other overnight accommodations include the Shawnee Lodge (two story house), 3 camping cottages and 2 yurts. The cottages can sleep up to 5 people have have electric lights/outlets, heat, bunk beds, a porch, table and fire ring. The yurts can also sleep up to 5 people and have a 4-burner electric range, microwave, countertop and cabinets, refrigerator, table and chairs, electric lights/outlets, heat, bunk beads, a porch, picnic table and fire ring.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, showers, overflow parking, trash collection and a dump station.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, swimming, hiking, biking, hunting, picnicking, disc golf and wildlife viewing. Winters sports also include sledding, XC skiing, ice skating and snowmobiling.
