Andrew Jackson State Park Campground is located next to a small 18-acre lake and has 25 campsites with water & electric hookups. Primitive group camping is also available. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 30 feet).
The popular park features living history programs, a museum and interactive exhibits that chronicle Andrew Jackson’s boyhood in the South Carolina backcountry.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station. There’s also a park store/gift shop, playground, day use area, horseshoe pits and a fishing pier. Fishing boat rentals are also available. No Wifi is available.
Popular outdoor activities include hiking, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, bird watching, picnicking and wildlife viewing. You can also visit the museum and see interactive exhibits. And be sure to check out the statue of the “Boy of the Waxhaws” sculpture, as well as an 18th-century replica schoolhouse.
