Colleton State Park Campground South Carolina
Colleton State Park Overview
Colleton State Park campground has 25 single-family campsites (with electric/water hookups) located very close to the Edisto River. The Park is a favorite for paddle enthusiasts who canoe and kayak on the river. If you didn’t know, the Edisto is the longest free flowing, blackwater river is the nation.
Colleton State Park campground is set in a nice forest that offers shade to most campsites. The campground has a camp store, drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, trash collection and an RV dump station. In addition to the hookups, Each campsite has a table, fire ring and grate. A cabin and group camping are also available. A boat landing/launch is also nearby, but it is across the river from the state park. There is also another boat launch at the park but it is usually under water most days and the dock is in poor shape.

Colleton State Park Comments & Reviews
Visited Colleton State Park Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Colleton State Park?
Plan to kayak the Edisto with “friends of Edisto “ on the 6th of April. We do cash r/t history of identity theft in 2000. Do you think we’ll be able to get a site? Without reservation?
Hi Welfle,
I’d click on the ‘Make A Reservation’ button to check availability at Colleton State Park for your April dates. If there are a lot of campsites available, then you should not have a problem with a walk-in (no reservation).
First time here and really impressed. It’s a small park but as neat and tidy as any park I’ve seen. The sites are generous, well maintained and generally requires very little leveling. The ranger is terrific and carry’s dog treats which is a hit for our dogs. The hosts offer to pick up garbage when they ride by. They’re just so friendly and really keep this place maintained to perfection. Just a lovely park next to the Edisto River. We don’t fish but I suspect the fishing is good. A Dollar General nearby but about 20 minutes from a supermarket. Also just a few minutes off 95. Highly recommend if you want a quiet getaway without all the whistles and bells and traffic found in most parks.
Thanks Wayne!
Great review/feedback for Colleton State Park.
