  1. Heidi Graves says:

Without a doubt, one of the BEST CAMPGROUND we have ever visited! We spend every Thanksgiving at Devil’s Fork. The bath houses are clean and updated. The sites we have stayed at (40-42) are spacious and private. We have never been fortunate enough book a water front site. Those look amazing!

  2. Casey Ables says:

This is the worst park I’ve ever been to! Signs were posted for full capacity yet they said they had room for us. We pay $40 to get in and then there wasn’t a spot to park our truck and boat trailer after unloading. Our receipt shows that we were there less than 5 minutes and they refused a refund. The staff was extremely rude in directing traffic as well. I’d suggest looking for another park and boating area. There are plenty in the area with better pricing and much friendlier staff!

  3. The lake and facilities are beautiful however we found the staff to be quite rude and unfriendly. We met friends who brought their boat and we rode in a separate vehicle which we were forced to park in and area at least half a mile away and had to carry all of our food, drinks gear etc. on foot to the boat launch area. No exceptions. My sister has asthma and is physically disabled and cannot walk far especially in the heat and across hills and rough terrain. So handicapped people and people with physical disabilities need to be aware the staff will NOT make any exceptions. They could care less. We have no plans to return and it is such a shame because Devils Fork State Park is the gate keeper of the lake and obviously do not want people there especially if you are handicapped or disabled.

  4. Penelope says:

Lake Jocassee is beautiful, but the campground is not. Especially if you are tent camping. Most site pads are less than 10 feet from the neighboring site with no foliage or barriers for privacy. I had to listen to my neighbors A/C blaring in their RV non-stop, and their dogs barking. They positioned their grill less than 5 feet from the back of my tent, filling my tent with smoke. The barking dogs throughout the park were NONSTOP! Even down at the beach area, dogs barking constantly. Beyond annoying and ruined the whole point of being out in nature. Frankly, I feel RVers have ruined campgrounds. They behave as if the whole area is their personal playground with no consideration for people who are tent camping. RVs and Tents should have separate areas. At the prices South Carolina parks get per night for camping, they need to start spending some of that money on upgrades to their grounds. Bathrooms were being cleaned at 7:30 in the morning; typically the busiest time for bathroom use. That did not make any sense. They have a natural gem at this location with the lake. I think they feel they do not need to provide customer service, or provide the amenities most parks do, because there is always a demand for sites. I hope they do better in the future.
