Givhans Ferry State Park Overview
Givhans Ferry State Park has 31 campsites and is located is on the banks of the Edisto River with access to the famous Edisto River canoe & kayak trail. The trail actually begins at Colleton State Park.
Campsites 1-25 can accommodate tents trailers and RVs (up to 40 feet) and have water & electric hookups. They also have a table, fire ring and grill.
Campsites 26-35 are (primitive) tent-only campsites. The hike/walk from the designated parking are is approximately 200 yards to the campsites. These tent/hammock sites have water and 20 amp electric, as well as a grill, fire ring, picnic table and storage box for food and supplies. The site material is groomed beach sand ideal for tents.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station. The park also has a playground, Wifi access, a gift/camp store, volleyball courts, picnic areas and hiking trails. Cell service is fair in the area.
Givhans Ferry State Park – Area Recreation
Obviously canoeing and kayaking are pretty popular here, but you can also fish, swim, hiking, bike, geocache, play some volleyball, or throw a horseshoe. Picnicking and wildlife viewing are also pretty nice here.
Colleton State Park campground is just 20 miles to the west via Highway 61. It has 25 campsites (with hookups).

I was wondering a couple things about your primitive camp sites.- can you drive your car up to it as I am an elder and hard to tote stuff.2- I know there us no electric or water but are out houses close to them.3is there a fire ring for a camp fire to cook on.please , if some one could answer these questions for me.oh one more 4- is there a place near by to be able to collect drinking and cooking water from since there are none at these sites.would appreciate the info so very much.Thank you, Sky Longhair
