Hickory Knob State Park campground has 44 campsites (with electric hookups) and is located next to beautiful Strom Thurmond Lake. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Several sites are along the lakeshore and most sites have nice shade from a forest of tall trees. In addition to hookups, campsites also have a table, fire ring and grate. Group camping and cabins are also available for rent.
The campground has drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers, trash collection and a dump station. There’s also a camp store, laundry facility, Wifi and friendly camp host.
Hickory Knob State Park has a visitor center, a cafe/restaurant, marina, boat ramp, picnic area, skeet shooting, archery, tennis courts and archery. There’s also an 18-hole championship golf course – so bring your sticks! Other outdoor recreation includes boating, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, water skiing, jet skiing and wildlife viewing.
Two other campgrounds in the area include Hawe Creek and Hamilton Branch State Park.

Warning. Site #23 has quite a slope on it. We have a 39′ Class A and we couldn’t get it level. Also, if it’s raining, it’s all mud. I would not (although the view is great) recommend it for an RV.
