Cottonwood Springs Overview

Cottonwood Springs Campground Sign

Cottonwood Springs Campground has 18 campsites and is located on a hill above Cottonwood Springs Lake in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Hot Springs, SD is also just 5 miles away.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a paved parking spur (ranging in size from 37 to 67 feet), table, fire ring and grill. The campground is generally open mid-May to mid-September. Amenities include drinking water, flush and vault toilets and trash collection. There’s also a playground, horseshoe pit, boat ramp, boat trailer lot and a picnic / day use area. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is spotty in the area.

Area Recreation and Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

Other campgrounds in the area include Cold Brook and Elk Mountain (Wind Cave National Park). Comanche Park and Bismarck Lake area also in the area.
