Whitetail Campground has 18 large campsites and is located above Deerfield Reservoir in the Black Hills National Forest. Several of the campsites have lake views.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site has a parking spur, table, fire ring and grill. The campground is generally open mid May to early September. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host. Cell service is not available in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Dutchman, Oreville, Pactola Reservoir, Bear Gulch Group, Roubaix Lake, Boxelder Forks and Willow Creek Horse Camp.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
