Big Ridge State Park campground is located next to Norris Lake and has 50 campsites (each with water and 50-amp electrical hookups), a table, fire ring and grill. The sites can accommodate RVs, trailers and tent campers. The RV campsites can accommodate a unit up to 35 feet. There are also 20 cabins, group camping and backcounty camping is also available at the park. There are three designated backcountry campsites.
The campground also has flush toilets, hot showers ($), a dump station and drinking water. Firewood is also available or sale at the park.
The park has 3,687 acres of outdoor adventure waiting for you in a heavily forested area located in the Appalachian Ridge & Valley Range of Tennessee. You can get your outdoor on here and enjoy camping, hiking, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, biking, swimming, wildlife viewing and roasting marsh mellows. Big Ridge State Park also has volleyball, tennis courts, basketball court, horseshoe pits and a softball field.
Cosby campground is an option if you want to get away and spend some time in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It’s about 81 miles from Big Ridge State Park. You might also like Bandy Creek Campground if heading west. Panther Creek State Park is also nice.
