Long Branch Campground has 61 spacious campsites (with water & 50-amp electric hookups) and is located below Center Hill Dam next to the scenic Caney Fork River in central Tennessee’s Highland Rim. There are 40 sites with water and electric hookups and 16 (primitive) tent sites. large group day-use picnic area is available as well, with water and 15-amp electric hookups.
The campground is generally open mid April to early November. Amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, laundry facilities, a dump station and trash collection. Cell service is fair in the area. There’s also a boat ramp, boat trailer parking lot and fish cleaning station.
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. There are 40 sites with water & electric hookups. Each site also has a parking spur (ranging in size from 45 to 95 feet), table, lantern post, BBQ pedestal, fire ring and grill.
Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding fishing, swimming, water sports, hiking, biking, hunting, picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also great in the area.
Fishermen come to Long Branch to experience trophy trout fishing on the river, which is stocked with rainbow and brown trout. Canoeing and kayaking on the Caney Fork River is also popular. The Buffalo Valley Nature Trail is located just across the river from the campground. It provides access to the Caney Fork and is a very popular area for trout fishermen. The area has great wildlife viewing opportunities.
Above the dam, the lake stretches 64 miles up the river, where visitors come to enjoy boating, fishing and water sports. The 415 miles of forested shoreline also provide excellent hiking, hunting and camping opportunities.
Other campgrounds in the area include Hurricane Bridge, Floating Mill Park and Ragland Bottom.
