Meeman-Shelby Forest State Park (Dogwood Ridge) Campground has 49 (water/electric hookups) in a forested area near the mighty Mississippi River. There are also six 2-bedroom cabins and 1 youth group campsite (up to 140 people).
The park includes 12,539-acres featuring mature Bald Cypress and Tupelo swamp. Most of the facilities are on top of the majestic Chickasaw Bluffs that rise from the bottomlands and are covered with large oaks, American beech, hickory and sweet gum. There are 10 state Champion Trees and two National Champion Trees as well as endangered and protected plants.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, a modern bathhouse (hot-water showers), trash collection and a dump station. In addition to water & electric hookups, each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. The park also has a gift shop/store, picnic pavilions, disc golf and mixed-use trails.
Outdoor recreation includes boating, canoeing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
