Balmorhea State Park Overview

Balmorhea State Park campground has 34 single-family campsites and is located next to crystal-clear water of the world’s larges spring fed swimming pool. There are 33 sites with 50-amp electric & water hookups. An 18-room motel is also located at the park. One group campsite is also available (up to 16 people).

Campground amenities include restrooms with flush toilets & showers, potable water and a dump station. In addition to the swimming pool, park facilities also include a playground, picnic area, basketball court, group hall, cafe (open Memorial Day through Labor Day & spring break) and park office. There’s also a nice creek and wetlands at the park.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Sites 2 & 21-34 have water & electric hookups and 14 sites have Cable TV. Each site also has a table, fire ring and BBQ pedestal. Most sites also have a shade structure (except 23, 25, 31, 33 and 34). Sites 2 & 22-34 are pull through.

Balmorhea State Park – Recreation

Situated about four miles west of Balmorhea, Texas, the 45.9-acre Balmorhea State Park is an oasis in the arid West Texas region. The 77,053 square foot San Solomon Spring swimming pool is the focal point of Balmorhea State Park. The water temperature stays at 72 to 76 degrees year-round. Visitors can enjoy swimming, scuba or skin diving, geocaching, hiking, biking, birding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
