Fort Richardson State Park campground has 62 campsites located near Lost Creek and the restored buildings of the old fort. There are 37 sites with electric hookups, 4 with full hookups and the 5 equestrian campsites also have electric hookups. Cabin rentals and group camping are also available.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station. There’s also a camp store, dining hall, picnic area and playground. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grate.
The park features seven of the original (restored) including the post hospital, officer’s quarters (commanding officer); a powder magazine; a morgue; a commissary; a guard house; and a bakery, which baked 600 loaves per day. There are also two replicas: officers’ and enlisted men’s barracks. The officers’ barrack houses the Interpretive Center. Outdoor recreation includes hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, swimming, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
