Kimball Bend Park has 36 campsites (50-amp electric hookups) and is located next to Whitney Lake just off the main channel of the Brazos River in Central Texas. The campground is open year-round and reservations are accepted.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot showers and a dump station. There is also a boat ramp located next to the campground. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Cell service reception is good in the campground.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes boating, fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, water sports, hiking, biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. The 12.5 mile Hopewell Trail is also nearby. It allows hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. And you’ll also see ruins from the old town of Kimball, now a very haunted ghost town.
You may also like Cleburne State Park, or Copperas Creek Campground.
