Monahans Sandhills State Park campground has 26 single-family (RV hookup) campsites and is steps away from some of the best sand-surfing in the great state of Texas. Each site has water & electric hookups. Equestrian and group campsites are also available. The park has a ranger station, interpretive center, picnic area and interpretive trails.

Campground amenities include drinking water (spigots), flush toilets, hot showers ($), a dump station and camp store. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, shade structure, fire ring and BBQ pedestal.

Monahans Sandhills State Park – Area Recreation

Monahans Sandhills State Park consists of 3,840 acres of sand dunes, some up to 70 feet high.  It’s a great place for kids of all ages to do some sand-sledding and hiking through the dunes. Visitors can also enjoy hiking, horseback riding, birding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

You may also be interested in Balmorhea State Park. There’s a beautiful sprig-fed pool down there where you can cool off after a day of sand-sledding at Monahans.
