Aspen Campground has 32 spacious campsites and is located in an Aspen forest above the North Fork Duchesne River in Ashley National Forest. The North Fork Drainage lies on the southern slope of the beautiful Uinta Mountains in northeastern Utah.
The campground is generally open late May to mid September. Amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. Due to a sanitation system failure, drinking water is not available until further notice. Cell service is also not available in the area. Firewood can be purchased from the camp host (in season).
Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Most are single-family sites, but there are a few double-family campsites. One group site (up to 32 people) is also available. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. Camp roads and parking spurs are dirt. Hookups are not available.
Other campgrounds in the area include Wolf Creek, Mill Hollow, Hades and Iron Mine. Fred Hayes State Park (Starvation Reservoir) is also about an hour away.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATV trail riding, picnicking, stargazing and wildlife viewing. Snowshoeing is also popular during the winter.
