Big Bend Campground is located along the Colorado river in a beautiful red rock canyon about 8 miles up river from Moab in the Colorado National Monument. The campground has 20 spacious campsites and 4 group sites, but most sites can accommodate larger groups. The single-family campsites are first-come first-served, Big Bend Group Sites are reservable.
The campground has drinking water and vault toilets, but no hookups or dump station. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring, grill and shade structure. Cell service is poor in the area.
The area is popular and the campground will likely fill up on the weekends. The campground offer views of spectacular red rock cliffs amidst a green ribbon of vegetation.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes rafting, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, climbing, horseback riding, OHVing and picnicking. Wildlife viewing is also happening here! Be sure to check out the Window Rock and Canyon Rim Trails that lead to stunning vistas of red rock spires.
Other campgrounds in the area include Upper Big Bend, Hal Canyon, Goose Island, Grandstaff, Drinks Canyon and Oak Grove.
