Calf Creek Recreation Area & Campground has 14 single-family campsites and is located along a creek in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. The campground is also close to the trailhead to the spectacular 126-foot high Lower Calf Creek Falls. Escalante is about 15 miles to the east if you need any supplies.
The campground is first-come, first-serve. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Amenities include drinking water and vault toilets. There’s also 2 volleyball courts, a playground and picnic area.
Calf Creek Falls is a southern Utah landmark and includes a beautiful hike between mineral-streaked cliffs of Navajo Sandstone, pass beaver ponds and pre-historic rock art before you reach the 126-foot-high waterfalls. Roundtrip distance to the falls is 5-1/2 miles. Other outdoor activities in the area include biking, horseback riding, OHVing, swimming, rafting, kayaking, climbing, canyoneering and wildlife viewing.
