Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation (Reservoir) has 2 popular developed campgrounds, as well as primitive camping opportunities next to the reservoir. Four cabins and group camping area also available.
Beach Campground has 32 campsites along the shore of Starvation Reservoir. Each campsite has water & electric hookups, as well as a shade structure, table, fire ring and grill. Sites 1 and 18 also have sewer hookups. All campground roads and parking spurs are paved. The campground has flush toilets, hot-water showers drinking water and a dump station. There’s also a boat ramp nearby.
Mountain View campground has 34 partial hookups (water and electric) and sites 24-27 also have sewer hookups. All have views of the Starvation Reservoir. Campsites are suitable for tents, trailers and RVs. Each also has a table, shade structure, fire ring and grill. The campground has flush and vault toilets, hot showers, drinking water and a dump station. Group camping is also available.
Indian Bay Campground has 24 partially developed campsites. Each site has a parking area, table, fire ring and grill. Dispersed campsites are also available. Amenities include drinking water, 3 vault toilets and trash collection,
Rabbit Gulch campground has 27 developed campsites and dispersed camping. Most of the developed sites have a table, fire ring and grill. Some have shade structures. Amenities include water, vault toilets and trash collection. There’s also an RV sewer dump at the entrance (but no water).
Juniper Point and Knight Hollow camping areas offer primitive campsites (dispersed). Some may have tables. Vault toilets and trash collection are available.
There are 4 cabins available to rent right next to the water. These include King’s Peak, Black Tail, Lookout and Tabby. Each sleeps up to six people (one queen bunk bed and a futon couch bed). Amenities include lighting, electricity, cooling/heating, table/chairs, microwave and a refrigerator. There’s also a picnic table, fire ring and grill. Restrooms with showers are nearby. Bedding, cookware, cooking supplies, eating utensils and towels are not provided. Pets and smoking are not allowed in the cabins.
The Park includes 3,500 acres around Starvation Reservoir and offers a variety of outdoor recreation activities including boating, fishing, hiking, biking, OHV trails/riding and other waters sports. Wildlife viewing is also nice in the area.
Aspen, Hades and Iron Mine Campgrounds are also within an hours drive of Fred Hayes State Park.
