Goose Island Group Campground has 2 group sites next to the Colorado River in a stunning canyon near Arches National Park. Navajo Sandstone cliffs soar above the river directly across from the campground. These cliffs provide the scenic backdrop to the campground, and also offer early shade in the summer months.
The group sites are set up for tent camping (up to 25 people for site ‘A’ and up to 40 people for site ‘B’), but you can also fit a trailer or RV (up to 30 feet) in the parking areas. Amenities include vault toilets, but no drinking water. Each group site also has tables, fire rings and grills. Cell service is also fair in the area.
Group Island Campground (next door) also has 18 single- family campsites.
Outdoor recreation includes rafting, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, climbing, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. There’s also some great mountain biking and OHV trails in the area.
