Granite Flat Campground has 52 single family campsites located in American Fork Canyon and less than a mile from Tibble Fork Reservoir. Three group campsites are also available.
The campground is generally open mid May to mid October with campsites spread out in a forest of aspen, douglas and pine trees. There are 44 single campsites (up to 8 people), 8 double sites (16 people), and 3 group sites (100-125 people). Campsites 56, 57 and 58 have a walk to the camping area (ranging from 200 to 325 feet). Camp roads and parking spurs are paved. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill.
The three group campsites include Handshaker (up to 100 people/20 vehicles – up to 25′ in length), Stonemason (100 people/20 vehicles – up to 25′ in length), and Sandwagon (125 people/25 vehicles – up to 40′ in length). All have paved parking, campfire rings, picnic tables, vault toilets and trash collection.
Campground amenities include drinking water, vault toilets and trash collection. There’s also a sports (baseball) field and camp host that sells firewood. Cell service is not available in the area.
Other campgrounds in the area include Little Mill, Altamont (Group) and Timpooneke.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle-boarding, horseshoes, hiking, mountain biking, picnicking and wildlife viewing. Timpanogos Cave National Monument is also nearby (6.5 miles) and has tours.
