Horsethief Group Overview

Horsethief Group Campground has 5 group campsites and is located close to Dead Horse State Park and the Island in the Sky area of Canyonlands National Park. Group campsite #39 is located in Horsethief Campground, and group sites A-D are located adjacent to the main campground.  All group sites are tent only (no trailers or RVs).

Each site also has a table, shade structure, fire ring and grate. There are no hookups. Campground amenities include vault toilets. No water is available at the group campground.

Horsethief  Group Campground – Area Recreation & Activities

The area has many OHV and mountain biking trails nearby.  Other activities include hiking, scenic tours, photography, stargazing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.  You can also visit nearby Canyonlands National Park (Island in the Sky) and Dead Horse State park.

Other campgrounds in the area include Island in the Sky (Willow Flat), Lone Mesa Group and Cowboy.
