Soapstone Campground is located in a forested area along the Lower Provo River and has 34 campsites. The Mirror Lake Scenic Byway is also near the campground.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Roads and parking spurs are paved. Parking spurs range in size from 16 to 64 feet. There are 31 single-family campsites (up to 8 people per site), 2 double sites (up to 16 people) and 1 triple site (up to 24 people). Campsites 7-10 are walk-to for group camping but can be used by individual campers.

The campground is generally open mid May to mid September. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Each campsite also has a table, fire ring and grill. Cell service is not available in the area.

Other campgrounds in the area include Shingle Creek ATV, Lower Provo River, Yellow Pine, Shady Dell, Cobblerest and Duchesne Tunnel (dispersed camping). Iron Mine campground is also about 33 miles away.

Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, ATV trail riding, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
