South Campground in Zion National Park has 117 campsites and is located is situated along the Virgin River about 1/2 mile from the south entrance of the park. There are also 4 group sites available (7-15 people). The single family campsites can accommodate RVs, trailers and tents. A few sites are pull through.
The campground has a dump station, drinking water, and restrooms with flush toilets. Each campsites has a table, fire ring and grill. Laundry, groceries, and gas are all available within one mile of the campground. South Campground takes reservations from mid March through November and generally sell out. There are no RV hookups. Cell service is good in the area.
Watchman Campground also has 179 campsites for RVs, trailers and tents. And for a little secluded (tent) camping check out Lava Point Campground.
Zion National Park is Utah’s first National Park and offers encompasses 229 square miles of spectacular scenery. You’ll see massive sandstone cliffs of cream, pink and red, creeks, rivers, valleys, slot canyons and an abundance of wildlife. Outdoor recreation within the park includes backpacking, camping, hiking, biking, river rafting, picnicking, climbing, slot canyon exploration, canyoneering, horseback riding and wildlife viewing. The town of Springdale also has many shops and restaurants to enjoy.
