Steinaker State Park campground has 31 single-family campsites and is on a hill overlooking the beautiful reservoir.  Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (up to 35 feet). Some of the sites have full hookups. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grate. Group camping is also available.

Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets and a dump station. Firewood is also available for sale from the camp host. A boat launch and fish cleaning station are also nearby.

Steinaker State Park – Area Recreation

Sandy beaches, swimming, boating and waterskiing top the list of activities at Steinaker. Anglers enjoy fishing year-round for rainbow trout and largemouth bass. Located in the heart of Dinosaurland, the park is seven miles north of Vernal, just off Utah Highway 191 in northeastern Utah. Other outdoor recreation includes hiking, mountain biking, OHVing, picnicking and wildlife viewing.

  1. We stayed at campsite 12 and it was really nice! It seemed to be one of the more private sites and it had a beautiful view. A couple small trees provided a little bit of shade. We fit a pop up, an SUV and large truck on the paved pad so there was plenty of space. We’d definitely stay in this park again!
