Swinging Bridge (UT) Campground Utah

Swinging Bridge (UT) Overview

Swinging Bridge Campground Sign

Swinging Bridge Campground is located in a remote area next to the San Rafael River and near the Buckhorn Draw.  The BLM campground has 3 loops including Swinging Bridge North, Swinging Bridge South and the Equestrian loop. All campsites are first-come, first-serve.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. The campground is well maintained but does not have water, trash dumpsters or cell service. Vault toilets are available.

Swinging Bridge North Loop has a few cottonwood trees, which are good for shade in the hot summer months. Swinging Bridge South Loop has some shade structures. The Equestrian Loop has corrals at each site and a central corral area.

The North (loop) campground has 6 sites and all have access to cottonwood tree shade.  The sites are huge and could accommodate 2 to 4 vehicles.  The south (loop) campground sites are much more exposed, but 6 of the 11 sites have shade shelters.  Site 11 does have access to a lone cottonwood tree.  This was a popular spot on an early Saturday in June since Swinging Bridge is a river rafting takeout location.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes incredible star gazing, rafting, kayaking, OHV trail riding, rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
