Yellow Pine Campground has 33 campsites and is located just off the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway in a forested area of the Uinta Mountains of northeastern Utah. A babbling brook runs bast the campground and Beaver Creek is also nearby (on the other side of the highway). FYI – this is not the same campground as the Yellowpine on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains near Rock Creek in Ashley National Forest.
Campsites are not very level but are spread out and spacious. Parking spurs are dirt and on the short side (iffy for trailers). Many have rocks but small tent pad areas are available. There are a few pull through sites as well. Sites can accommodate tents, small trailers and RVs. Camp roads and parking spurs are gravel. There are no hookups but each site has a table, fire ring and grill.
The campground is situated among shady pines and aspen. The dense stands of trees provide nice shade and pretty fall color. Yellow Pine Creek runs alongside the campground and sagebrush and summer wildflowers dot the landscape. Amenities include vault toilets and trash collection. Potable (drinking) water is not available and cell service is also not available in the area. Firewood is also available to purchase from the camp host.
Other campgrounds in the area include Moon Lake, Pine Valley Group, Lower Provo River, Shingle Creek ATV, Ponderosa Group and Soapstone.
Numerous hiking, biking and horseback riding trails crisscross this beautiful region, including Yellow Pine, North Fork and Shingle Creek Trails, which all begin nearby. Off-road vehicle trails are in the vicinity.
