Yellowpine Campground has 32 campsites (including 2 group) and is located next to Rock Creek on the southern slope of the Uinta Mountains. Aspens and summer wildflowers dot the landscape.
FYI – this is Yellowpine Campground is Ashley National Forest, not Yellow Pine Campground in the Unita-Wasatch-Cache National Forest.
The campground is generally open mid May to late September and has single, double and group sites. Seventeen campsites are reservable and the rest are first-come, first-serve. Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs (25 to 30 feet). Each site also has a table, fire ring and grill. A number of the campsites also have tent pads.
Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, a dump station and trash collection. Cell service is not available in the area. There’s also a fishing dock and boat ramp nearby at Upper Stillwater Reservoir.
Other campgrounds int he area include Miners Gulch Group, Rock Creek Group and Upper Stillwater.
Outdoor recreation in the area includes fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
Upper Stillwater Reservoir and Lower Stillwater Ponds are also nearby, offering swimming, picnicking and fishing for brown and rainbow trout. Numerous hiking trails lead into the High Uinta Wilderness Area from the Upper Stillwater Trailhead.
