Grindstone Overview

Grindstone Campground has 122 spacious campsites in a forested area and located in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. Several streams also pass by just beyond the campground, with trout fishing available in abundance.

Campsites can accommodate tents, trailers and RVs. There are 44 sites with water & electric hookups. Each site also has a parking spur (ranging in size from 30 to 90 feet), table, lantern post, fire ring and grill. Campground amenities include drinking water, flush toilets, hot-water showers, a dumps station and trash collection. There’s also a day use/ picnic area, swimming area and multi-use trails.

Area Recreation & Activities

Outdoor recreation in the area includes hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, fishing, swimming, hunting, picnicking and wildlife viewing.
