The campground was redone a few years ago so the facilities are new but there is not much shade at the sites. There is a zipline concession in the park but you have to be 10 or older and pay $98 to go on the 8 lines and 4 rope bridges. The park is within 15 miles of 2 cavern systems, one of which is Luray.
My only complaint is that you can reserve a site but you can’t pick it until you get there. Problematic if you want 2 together. Get there early.
It’s a beautiful place to stay with plenty to do (tubing, kayaking, hiking) and new facilities. I liked it and will take the family back next year. Even saw Bald Eagles soaring around.
