Battle Ground Lake State Park Comments & Reviews
Visited Battle Ground Lake State Park Campground lately? We'd love to hear about your adventure. Did you find us useful? Did we forget something? Anything our community should know before heading out to Battle Ground Lake State Park?
I can’t find anything about boat launching fees. I even called the state park and there was just a recording. The recording didn’t mention anything about boat launching fees. It would be nice to know before I headed out there with my boat and then find out when I get there that there’s an exorbitant fee for launching a boat!!!!
Hi Greg,
Battle Ground Lake State Park is equipped with an automated pay station for visitors to purchase a one-day or annual Discover Pass and boat launch permit. The daily fee to launch a watercraft is $7. The annual permits for boat launches at Washington State Parks is $80. You can read more about it by clicking HERE.
were camping in the group site next week and I was wondering if we each need a discover pass to park
Hi Kelly,
You do not need to purchase a Discover pass if you are parking your vehicle (and spending the night) at Battle Ground Lake State park group (or individual) campsite. For more information you can visit the Washington State Park Discover Pass info page.
Planning to bring a tarp to hang in the Adirondack opening. DO you know what the dimensions of those openings?
Not to be paranoid but…. I am moving close to the park in the spring and would like to hike there. Would you say it is safe for a single woman and dog (with pepper spray) 🙂 to hike there alone? Bears/cougars/people
Hi Tiana,
The trails at Battle Ground Lake State Park are pretty popular so (most of the time) there are lots of hikes. I recommend you call or check in with the Ranger to get their opinion: (360) 687-4621. As a general rules, it’s always best to hike with a partner.
The boat launch fees for this small lake are excessively high. The launch fees for most lakes in WA state with similar offerings are much cheaper, no more than $3.00 a day. I used to fish this lake back in the 90’s and early 2000’s when it was free to launch there. How do you justify charging so much?
Whenever I have taken my sons to Battleground lake to fish, there have always been at least a half dozen pot smokers on the dock and on the swimming beach. The entire area smelled like pot. Will pot smoking ever be limited there? I don’t want to shell out for the Discover pass to come home stinking.
Hi, can you tell me what the rules or any restrictions are for bringing our small dog to camp at the campground? Thank you!
Hi Lisa,
Dogs are allowed at Battle Ground Lake State Park in the campground and on the trails, but must be on a leash (in control) at all times. You also need to pick up after them. They are also allowed in some designated “pet-friendly” cabins.
I’m coming from out of state– Does Washington State Parks honor golden age passes?
Hi Crig,
I’m not sure about that. I recommend you contact the Washington State Park Information Center at 360-902-8844 or infocent@parks.wa.gov.
